A babysitter who believes kids deserve to feel safe, heard, and gently guided — not just “watched”.

Kath's Babysitting grew out of simple word-of-mouth. Families started recommending me to friends, and I realized how rare it feels to find a sitter you truly trust. My goal is to be that person: calm in chaos, kind but firm with boundaries, and always respectful of your parenting style.

I’ve seen meltdowns over the wrong color cup, bedtime battles, and big feelings about small things — and I’ve learned that patience, humor, and consistency usually win.

Refund Policy

Babysitting is a scheduled service. Time is reserved specifically for your family. Because of this, refunds apply mostly to prepaid sessions and specific situations.

You may receive a refund if:

  • You paid in advance for a session that Kath must cancel and no reschedule is available.
  • There was a clear double charge or billing error.
  • A deposit was paid for an event and the event is cancelled within the agreed refund window.

Refunds are generally not given when:

  • You cancel last-minute outside the allowed cancellation window.
  • You decide to come home early once the session has already started.
  • You are unhappy with limits that were clearly agreed beforehand (screen time, bedtime, etc.).

Approved refunds are usually returned to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or payment provider.

Service & Arrival Policy (“Delivery”)

Instead of packages and shipping, babysitting is “delivered” as a person arriving at your home at a specific time.

Service area:

  • Babysitting is offered only within the local area agreed in advance.
  • If your home is outside the normal radius, a travel fee may apply or the booking may be declined.

Arrival time:

  • Kath aims to arrive 5–10 minutes before the scheduled start time when possible.
  • If running late due to traffic or delays, you will be notified as soon as practical.
  • If emergencies make the session impossible, you may reschedule or request a refund of prepayment.

Access to your home:

  • You are responsible for providing safe, legal access to your home or agreed meeting place.
  • If Kath cannot safely access the home, it may be treated as a late cancellation or no-show.

There is no shipping of products. All “delivery” refers to time and presence at your location.

Session Adjustment & “Return” Policy

You cannot return time the way you return a product, but you can raise concerns and ask for adjustments.

If you are unhappy with a session:

  • Contact Kath within 24 hours and explain what felt off.
  • Be specific about what happened, what you expected, and any impact on your family.

Possible resolutions:

  • A conversation to clarify expectations for next time.
  • Adjusting future session plans and routines.
  • In rare cases, a partial refund or credit if there was a clear issue.

If either side feels the fit isn’t right, it’s okay to decide not to book again.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

When you book a session, that time is held just for your family. Last-minute changes can make it impossible to offer that time to another family.

Free cancellation window:

  • You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the start time with no fee.
  • Events or full-day sessions may require 3–7 days notice for free cancellation.

Late cancellations:

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be charged up to 50% of the expected cost.
  • Repeated late cancellations may require deposits for future bookings.

Same-day cancellations & no-shows:

  • Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to the full session fee.
  • If Kath has an emergency and must cancel, you will not be charged, and any deposit may be refunded or moved.

Rescheduling:

  • Reschedules 24+ hours in advance are free and confirmed based on availability.
  • Less than 24 hours may be treated as a late cancellation.

All cancellations and changes should be done by text or email so there is a written record.

What ages do you babysit? +
Typically ages 2–12. Younger infants may be possible depending on timing, length of session, and what support you need — just mention it in your booking request.
Do you bring your own activities? +
Usually we use a mix of what you have at home and simple ideas I can adapt on the spot (games, drawing, stories, etc.). If you prefer, I can bring a small bag of age-appropriate activities — just ask in advance.
How do payments work? +
For most regular sessions, payment is due at the end of the session (cash, transfer, or another agreed method). Events or very long sessions may require a deposit. Refund and cancellation details are listed in the Policies section.
Can you help with bedtime and routines? +
Yes — the more you share about your normal bedtime routine, the better. I’ll follow your steps as closely as possible (bath, pajamas, stories, lights out, etc.).
What if we need to cancel? +
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before a standard session. After that, a partial or full fee may apply, especially for same-day cancellations. See the Cancellation Policy above.
Do you handle sick kids? +
Mild colds may be okay, but for fevers, vomiting, or contagious illnesses, it’s usually best to reschedule to protect everyone’s health. Please mention any symptoms when you request or confirm a booking.
